Once the dummy comes down you can see the values of North’s raise to 3© with three card suit and good ruffing values in spades.

So after winning the first trick come back to hand with a trump in order to ruff the first Spade.

After ruffing the first spade you are in dummy and its now convenient to take the club finesse. East “must have” the Club Ace in view of his bidding.

When the club Queen holds you now attempt to ruff a second spade but, as expected (East should have six spades for his bids),  its not to be and West ruffs with the ©9 and gets off lead with a Diamond. This suggests that West has the Heart queen and doesn’t want to play Hearts. So without much ado you now play off AK of trumps please to see the Queen fall in two rounds. (You would not want to walk into a possible diamond ruff from East would you?)

You now make 5 trumps from the long hand, 1 Spade , 2 Diamonds, 1 Club and 1 spade ruffed
