1. Strong NT 15-17 2 Stayman
After the strong No Trump opener partner replied 2♥ and they got to 4♥.
West lead the ♦Q which was very nice for declarer. Could he now take advantage of this lead and make 1 tricks :- 3 trumps, 4 Diamonds. 2 Spades and 1 club ruff and 1 spade ruff for a well played hand..
He won the first trick in hand leaving the A109 in dummy ready to take aa Finesse against West, the leader who presumably had QJ when he led the Queen.
He now only drew two rounds of trumps hoping that the person who started with three trumps had four Diamonds.
After cashing tow top Diamonds ending in hand he now took the first Diamond finesse leading low towards the A109 holding. West played low and when declarer played the 9 the finesse proved to be successful. He now re-entered hand with a topSpade. before taking a second diamond finesse against West. The diamond finesse was successful and now declarer cashed the last Diamond chucking a Spade from hand he now tried the club finesse and West one.
West played his trump won by dummy's Queen. Now declarer was able to ruff a Spade and ruff a club bringing his total to 11s trick -
