I recently played this hand and was surprised that West could not find the winning defence .after the ©9 lead. Declarer won the first trick with the ©10 and partner followed with the 3. This 3 can only be a singleton - if partner had 63 he would have petered. If partner had A63 he would not have help up the first trick in view of partner's 2© overcall so it pointed to a singleton in all directions.
Therefore after winning the second spade trick he should have played another Heart and given his partner a ruff- partner still had one trump left.
The defence should realize 1 trump 2 Minor Suit Aces and one Heart Ruff. Perhaps West's defence was as bad as his bidding having made this dreadful overcall on this awful suit- did he really want the suit led? Were his values in this suit? All In all, West was a not a very good player J
