This hand come from OKbridge and my esteemed opponent knew all about restricted choice and brought home his contract despite the 3-1 Break in trumps.

After winning the first trick in dummy (no unnecessary finesses here) he played a club to his queen in hand before returning to dummy via  a top Heart, He now cashed two top clubs making his diamond problem go away- he tossed away two losing Diamonds. He now came back to hand with a heart before venturing trumps . He wanted to lead from the closed hand up to dummy to see the lie of the trump suit just in case there was a singleton Ace in West's hand. No Ace but there was the Ten. East won the trick and tried the Diamond which declarer was now able to ruff.

Knowing all about restricted choice our esteemed declarer now re-entered dummy with a top Heart and now finessed East for the missing Spade Jack and brought home his contract in true expert fashion. Restricted choice says that with the fall of the Ten with West East is twice as likely to have the touching honour i.e the Jack.

Well played South, who brought home 5 Spades, 3 Hearts, 1 Diamond and 3 clubs and not losing 2 trump tricks despite the 3-1 break.
