leads a Spade and after winning his Ace east plays another one.

your play.
What
could go wrong here ? The lead has set up 2 Spade tricks and it seems you have 6
Diamonds in the bag plus ace King in both Minor suits. If you play unthinkingly
here ands merely play off the High Card from the short hand in the trump suit
(ie dummy’s Queen first) you will go one off. However, if you look more
carefully and recognize the K10 in hand and the Q9 tenace in dummy as tenaces,
you can guarantee all six trump tricks provided you cash the correct high card
first.
After
winning the second Spade, play low Diamond to the Diamond Ace leaving the Q9
intact in dummy and the K10 in hand. When East shows out you are now safe, since
you merely finesse dummy’s diamond 9 on the way back, cash the queen, return
to hand with the Club Ace to draw last trump. You can now claim. You have
carefully amassed 2 Spades, 2 Hearts, 6 Trumps and 2 Clubs.
