1. If you can open 1♥ then I think we should be bal to make 6♥
2. If you think we can make 6♥ I now think we can make 7♥
I was playing this hand on OK bridge and after I opined 1♥. Partner jumped straight to 6♥, so I decided that with my extra values and if he had made a "sensible" reply I should now bid 7♥ which is what I then did.
Just shows you, that the saying "Bid what you think you can make", certainly applies here without any fancy artificial bidding.
Now to the play - seems like lots of options.
You have 9 top tricks 1 Spade, 5 Hearts, 1 Diamond and 2 top clubs.
Having put all his eggs in the Diamond basket when he bid 6♥ let's now prove the worth of those diamonds and see if we can establish the diamond suit this will bring our total up to 13.
We made 4 trumps (only) from the short hand, 2 clubs, 1 Spade, 3 Diamonds ruffed in long hand, and 3 established Diamonds.
