Mistakenly you get to 3NT instead of the much more user friendly contract of 3NT. The opposition unkindly lead a Diamond, your most vulnerable suit.
You can only lose the lead once and will have to quickly establish 4 tricks from either the Clubs or the Spades. If you go after the clubs you might have to lose the lead twice (to both the Ace and Queen). However if you go after the Spades with a bit of luck there will be 4 tricks after the Ace has been dislodged and the suit breaks 3:2 or the 10 comes down.
. So at trick two you play a low spade towards dummy’s Ace. Once they have taken their Ace and driven out your second Diamond stopper you now run for home and take 4 Spades, 3 Hearts and 2 Diamonds.
Let us hope that you beat all those who aspired to a Spade slam and got to 5ª and then went down after finessing the Club Jack (fairly normal play)
